Iran regime’s defiance increases tensions with Israel

Image
By Dr. Majid Rafizadeh Rising tensions between the Iranian regime and Israel have the potential to spiral into a wider conflict if not adequately addressed. There are several reasons for the heightened tensions. First of all, although the Iranian regime attempts to distract attention from the direct involvement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria, Tehran continues to increase its military influence there and use its proxies against Israeli targets. Israel last month carried out an airstrike in Syria on a location where Iranian officials were meeting. Iranian leaders were reportedly meeting to discuss developments regarding their country’s drone and ballistic missile capabilities in Syria. The attack occurred on the same day that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the Iranian government for an attack on a vessel owned by an Israeli in the Arabian Gulf. He said: “Last week, Iran attacked an oil tanker … and harmed the international freedom of navigation....

Remembering Reyhaneh on the anniversary of her flight

Image
October 25 marks the anniversary of the hanging execution of Reyhaneh Jabbari in 2014. Reyhaneh Jabbari  walked to the gallows at dawn on Saturday, October 25, 2014, after seven years of incarceration. Since then, Reyhaneh stands as the symbol of Iran’s defenseless women who are handed the death penalty without deserving it. At the same time, she has become an icon for brave women who do not succumb to the Iranian regime and its demands. She was 26 at the time of execution. An interior designer by profession, she had defended herself against rape by a high official of the Intelligence Ministry (MOIS), Morteza Sarbandi. Reyhaneh was viciously tortured to make false “confessions” which would whitewash the methods and image of the Ministry of Intelligence but she did not give in. Instead, she wrote about the incident and about many women in the clerical regime’s jails whose only crime was being poor. She cried for and  wrote about the victims  of the clerica...

Almost 2000 women and men took part in the rally and chanted among others, “fraud has been institutionalized, hearts are filled with spite”, "I will not give up until I achieve my rights", "Enough of injustice.” A woman cried out, “The government plunders everybody under the name of God and the Prophet. They speak of killings and trampled rights elsewhere but are killing us at the same time.” As the protest climaxed, the State Security forces intervened and started beating with batons the protesters who reacted by chanting, “Death to the dictator.” A number of protesting women and men brutally attacked by police were rescued when other protes...

GINGRICH: AS LONG AS THE IRAN REGIME IS IN POWER, THERE WILL BE CHAOS AND TERRORISM SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION .

Image
by Jazeh Miller Last week, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA), spoke about the threat and dangers posed by the Iranian regime. He reasserted his support of the Iranian Resistance movement via the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). He said that the United States and the US State Department need to pay more attention to the resistance movement that is working towards a free and democratic Iran. Gingrich described the Iran regime as a “dictatorship with a façade of democracy”. He explained that during the recent presidential elections, Iran claimed that this was a sign of their democracy, but when you look behind the façade you can see that there was nothing democratic about the elections. He reminded the audience at the event that the Iranian regime is proud of who and what it is. Before it launches a ballistic missile, it will proudly show pictures of it all over the media with “Death to Israel” ...
