Iran regime’s defiance increases tensions with Israel

  By Dr. Majid Rafizadeh Rising tensions between the Iranian regime and Israel have the potential to spiral into a wider conflict if not adequately addressed. There are several reasons for the heightened tensions. First of all, although the Iranian regime attempts to distract attention from the direct involvement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria, Tehran continues to increase its military influence there and use its proxies against Israeli targets. Israel last month carried out an airstrike in Syria on a location where Iranian officials were meeting. Iranian leaders were reportedly meeting to discuss developments regarding their country’s drone and ballistic missile capabilities in Syria. The attack occurred on the same day that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the Iranian government for an attack on a vessel owned by an Israeli in the Arabian Gulf. Iran: Protest Demonstration of Around 2,000 Pensioners in Tehran

Iran, September 16, 2017 - Around 2,000 Iranian pensioners started a continues protest gathering on Saturday, September 16, 2017, in front of the Talar Vahdat (Unity Hall) in Tehran to demand their pension salaries.

The gathering, which was pre-organized and called for in advance, included pensioners from major Iranian provinces including Isfahan Province, The Central Province, Southern and Northern Khorasan Provinces, Razavi Khorasan, Gilan, Mazandaran, Kermanshah, Tehran, and Alborz provinces.
According to eyewitness reports from the demonstration, the number of protesters increased almost by the hour.
The protesters were chanting slogans including 'enough of cruelty and injustice, our dinner table is empty', 'so much injustice in an Islamic regime', 'we will not leave until our rights are restored', 'our problems will be solved if embezzlement is stopped'.

The protesters also carried a large banner with their slogans written on it.
The suppressive State Security Forces surrounded the protesters in order to prevent others joining them.

Iran Regime’s Intimidating and Oppressive Measures Will Add To Society’s Restiveness

Threats by Friday Prayers Leaders To Iran’s Women Shows Mullahs’ Misogynous Nature
