Iranian leaders were reportedly meeting to discuss developments regarding their country’s drone and ballistic missile capabilities in Syria. The attack occurred on the same day that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the Iranian government for an attack on a vessel owned by an Israeli in the Arabian Gulf. Le 21 juin, les étudiants en sciences sociales de l’université de Téhéran ont poursuivi pour le cinquième jour consécutif leurs manifestations contre les lourdes peines de prison rendue par la justice des mollahs contre leurs camarades pour avoir pris part au soulèvement de décembre et janvier dernier.
Ils demandent la libération immédiate et inconditionnelle de leurs camarades et qu’on les laisse retourner à l’université. Les étudiants ont menacé de boycotter leurs examens finaux si on ne répond pas à leurs demandes.
À Abadan, la seconde plus grande ville de la province du Khouzistan, les résidents ont manifesté devant le Département de l’eau et des eaux usées mercredi 20 juin. Ils demandent de l’eau propre et potable, affirmant que l’eau qu’ils reçoivent actuellement est salée et a une odeur nauséabonde et qu’ils ne devraient pas devoir payer pour cela.
La sécheresse actuelle a mené à un manque d’eau sévère, notamment dans le sud de l’Iran, mais cela a été exacerbé par la mauvaise gestion et la corruption du régime. Par exemple, le régime a gaspillé de l’argent pour ses milices au Moyen-Orient plutôt que pour résoudre ses problèmes environnementaux. Il a également redirigé de l’eau potable loin des villes qui en ont le plus besoin pour aller vers des sites appartenant au pasdaran et aux militaires.
Les femmes ont organisé deux manifestations distinctes le mardi 19 juin.
Lors de la première, les personnes spoliées par l’établissement financier Caspian ont organisé une marche de protestation autour du square d’Argentine, entonnant des slogans contre les politiques qui ont menti concernant le remboursement de leur argent.
Lors de la seconde, les femmes se sont rassemblées devant le bureau du gouverneur à Iranshahr, au sud-est de l’Iran, pour protester contre le viol collectif de 41 jeunes femmes et filles. Elles ont demandé que les coupables soient arrêtés et punis.
Il n’est pas inhabituel de voir des femmes prendre part aux manifestations contre le régime iranien. Les Iraniennes étaient une des forces motrices de la révolution de 1979 qui a évincé le Chah. Elles sont le fer de lance des mouvements pour la justice sociale en Iran depuis des décennies.
Les Iraniennes sont au premier plan dans le combat contre la loi sexiste des mollahs. Comme tous les autres citoyens, elles aspirent le changement de régime.
Elles auront également une place importante lors du rassemblement pour un Iran libre à Paris le 30 juin prochain qui est organisé par la Résistance iranienne. Le changement de régime est le seul espoir pour un Iran libre et égalitaire.
