Iran regime’s defiance increases tensions with Israel

A Father and son, political prisoners, Ebrahim Khalil Seddiq-Hamedani and his son Salar, were threatened by the prison warden and guards.
According to the human
rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution”, on Monday, September 6, 2021,
Mehdi Daniali the head of “Moshavereh Ward” at Urmia Prison has summoned
political prisoners Ebrahim Khalil Seddiq-Hamedani and his son Salar confiscating
their phone cards. He also threatened them that a new case will be filed
against them.
Mr. Ebrahim Khalil
Seddiq-Hamedani and his son Salar use their phone card to call their family and
parents but Daniali has threatened them that if they are conveying the news of
prison to the outside world, a new case will be filed against them.
News say that on Tuesday,
September 7, 2021, when the prison authorities couldn’t find any evidence in
that regard, they issued them new phone cards.
Ebrahim Khalil
Seddiq-Hamedani and his son Salar are each sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Such suppressive measures
and threatening prisoners for their calls to their families is an instance of
psychological torture against, especially, political prisoners in the prisons
of the Islamic Republic. On the other hand, after leaked footages from the Evin
Prison, prison authorities are most feared of news leaking from the prison.
About the two political
prisoners:
Political prisoner,
Ebrahim Khalil Seddiq-Hamedani, 61, is suffering from diabetes. The necessary
insulin does not exist in the prison and his toes are turning black. Despite
his immediate need to medical care outside the prison, they refrain from
deploying him for treatment. This political prisoner is in immediate need to
medical care by a specialist.
Mr. Seddiq-Hamedani was
detained in late winter of 2019, along with two of her children, Salar and
Maryam (Mahsa), by security forces.
The first session of his
and Salar’s trial was held on September 9, 2021, at branch No.2 of Urmia
Revolution Court while they were denied access to any lawyer. Eventually the
court sentenced each to 15 years in prison, in addition to another year on
charge of “propaganda against the state.”
They were also sentenced
to three other years in prison at branch No.3 of Urmia Revolution Court on
charge of “tape-recording military centers”. Ebrahim Khalil Seddiq-Hamedani and
his son were sentenced to 19 years in prison in total each.
Political prisoner, Salar
Seddiq-Hamedani, is a 22-year-old student from Urmia. He was detained on
February 23, 2019, along with his father Ebrahim Khalil and his sister, Maryam
(Mahsa), by security forces in Urmia. All three were taken to Urmia Central
Prison on April 23, 2019, after two months of interrogation at the Urmia Intelligence
bureau’s detention center.
In late spring of 2020,
amid the spread of coronavirus at Urmia Central Prison, Salar and his father,
both on hunger strike, contracted coronavirus but they were prevented from
referring to prison’s infirmary.
