Iran regime’s defiance increases tensions with Israel

Lawyer prisoner, Mohammad Najafi, a human rights activist and now a political prisoner in Irak Central Prison is threatened to death.
The human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution, reported on September 7, 2021, quoting an informed source:
After exposing the brutality against prisoners in Evin Prison, a delegation of inspectors went to Arak prison as a show. These inspectors asked Mr. Najafi what the situation was like in this prison. “The situation here is terrible and just a few days ago they killed a young man in this prison,” the political prisoner replied.
After the delegation left, the prison authorities and their mercenary (Vakil of the ward= a person responsible for a ward) threatened him to death.
Mr. Najafi reported the threat to outside the prison. Now the life of political prisoner, Mohammad Najafi is in danger. He is currently being taken to a special ward and is isolated.
Other inmates have warned the warden and the Vakil of the ward that if anything happens to Mohammad Najafi, they will be held responsible for that.
Killing of prisoners by hired thugs and mercenaries in the prisons of the Islamic Republic is one of the methods they get rid of political prisoners. Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali is an instance whose killer or killers are not introduced yet.

It is to be mentioned that following the revelations of Evin Prison’s CCTV footages, eyewitnesses have revealed the crimes committed in Iran’s prisons and the tortures that are carried out there in cyber space. Many of the users who were the victims or witnesses to the tortures in Islamic Republic prisons, have all pointed to the fact that, such revelations were just tip of the iceberg of crimes committed in the last 43 years in prisons.
US state department’s labor, human rights and democracy administration pointing to the footages wrote that the footages that were recently revealed is something that everyone knew from years ago and that torture is a systematic act in Iran’s prisons.
On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Amnesty International announced in a statement that the 16 revealed footages from Evin Prison have been analyzed and are witnesses to shocking beatings, sexual harassments, negligence and deliberate mistreatment of persons who are in need of medical treatment. This organization also emphasized that it has collected evidences in that regard for years.
Judiciary and prison officials are trying to bring excuses for such an ignominy. On Sunday, September 5, Mohammad-Mehdi Haj-Mohammadi, the head of Prisons Organization visiting Gonbad-Kavoos Central prison said that some inmates have disrupted city’s peace and some are repelled by their families and they are the prison guards who are “sometimes more kind than their parents to them”.
