Iran regime’s defiance increases tensions with Israel

  By Dr. Majid Rafizadeh Rising tensions between the Iranian regime and Israel have the potential to spiral into a wider conflict if not adequately addressed. There are several reasons for the heightened tensions. First of all, although the Iranian regime attempts to distract attention from the direct involvement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria, Tehran continues to increase its military influence there and use its proxies against Israeli targets. Israel last month carried out an airstrike in Syria on a location where Iranian officials were meeting. Iranian leaders were reportedly meeting to discuss developments regarding their country’s drone and ballistic missile capabilities in Syria. The attack occurred on the same day that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the Iranian government for an attack on a vessel owned by an Israeli in the Arabian Gulf. NCRI logoSo Far, 13 Members of Ebrahim Raisi’s Cabinet and Nine Governors Are IRGC Commanders

This morning, the clerical regime’s parliament approved Revolutionary Guard (IRGC)’s commander, Yousef Nouri, as Ebrahim Raisi’s Education Minister. As an IRGC member since the 1980s, Nouri has played an active role in sending children and students to clear minefields (during the Iran-Iraq war), and this seems to be his only link to Education. He has also been one of the directors of the IRGC’s two largest economic conglomerates, known as the “Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters” and the “Martyrs and Veterans Affairs.”

In today’s public session, a regime’s parliament deputy from Neyshabur revealed that Nouri’s appointment is a foregone conclusion. “The parliament has decided to vote for you,” she told Nouri during her speech.

In his speech at the parliament, Nouri said, today: “We should turn the education system into Qassem Soleimani’s training school, to train students loyal to the Supreme Leader. He added that the High Council of Education “acted completely passively against the influence of the ‘UNESCO 2030 Document.’ Those few officials sponsoring the 2030 Educational Guidelines must know that they do not have a place in the education [system] In Iran.”

With the appointment of an IRGC commander as the Education Minister, the number of IRGC and members of the Quds Force in Raisi’s cabinet will reach 13, including nine ministers (Ministers of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Roads and Urban Development, Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Energy, Sports, Science, Research and Technology, Health, and Education) and three of his deputies (IRGC Commanders, Mohsen Rezaee, Mohammad Hosseini, Mohammad Eslami), and his Deputy Chief Executive and Head of the Presidential Institution, Ali Ghoraishi.

In addition, on November 21, 2021, in the midst of the protests in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Brig. Gen. Gholam-Ali Heydari was appointed governor of that Province. At the same time, Hassan Bahramnia, a Heydari’s colleague, was appointed as the Governor of Ilam. Raisi has appointed eight other IRGC commanders as governors, including the governors of West Azerbaijan, Khorasan Razavi, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Lorestan, Ilam, Qom, and Khuzestan. He is moving to completely militarize the Interior Ministry.

In a move seen as intensifying repression, exactly two months and 16 days after taking office Ebrahim Raisi, officially handed over Tehran’s “social control” to the IRGC. According to the state-run daily, Eqtesad News, dated October 20, 2021, Amin Tavakolizadeh, Tehran Municipality’s Deputy on Social Affairs, announced that the IRGC’s Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters, with the help of mosques and Friday prayer leaders, will be pursuing the issue of “social control” in the capital.

Iran Regime’s Intimidating and Oppressive Measures Will Add To Society’s Restiveness

Threats by Friday Prayers Leaders To Iran’s Women Shows Mullahs’ Misogynous Nature
